READ ONLY MODE

I am tired of removing all that spam form my forum. So I switched it to read-only mode: It's not allowed anymore to add any new messages. Someday, I might install a new forum here which offers me better ways to keep out spam.
I'm sorry, but I've really had it.

Ich hab nun endgültig die Schnauze voll davon, ständig irgendwelchen Spam aus dem Forum entfernen zu müssen. Also ist es ab sofort nicht mehr möglich, neue Beiträge im Forum zu hinterlassen. Vielleicht werde ich irgendwann in Zukunft ein neues Forum installieren, welches mir bessere Möglichkeiten bietet, Spam-Einträge von vorneherein draußen zu halten.
Tut mir leid, aber mir ging die Geschichte dermaßen auf die Nerven, dass ich keine Lust mehr auf dieses Forum gehabt habe.

Hi!

I just downloaded and installed (copyed to the windows font directory) the file PROFONT.fon to my windows XP computer and rebooted (just in case), but I am not able to use the font from Office 2003?

I can choose it in applications such as notepad, but I really need to be able to use it in Word as well.

The same problem goes for the font sheldon4.fon

any suggestions or help to offer?

Also, as an additional note:

I tried the true-type package after I posted the message above, and the file ProFW33.pfm in that archive (MSProFont.zip) is corrupt. Or at least my computer is unable to read it. (I tried to download one more time just in case, but with the same result.)

The true-type font is correctly detected in Word, but since the bitmap is clearer at small font-sizes, I would much prefer to use that, see post above.

Hi Dargar,

I don't think that the .pfm file is needed -- it's included in the ttf package because Mike Smith, who converted this version from Mac format to windows format, send this to me along with the .ttf file.
I might be wrong, but just try to install only the .ttf file... or try the »tweaked« version which is also available for download, maybe this'll run better on your system.

Regarding the .fon file: I don't work with MS Office so I just can guess that Office doesn't like bitmap fonts at all... Does Office offer other bitmap fonts that are installed on your system?

No, it doesnt offer other bitmap fonts either. I guess I just have to make do with the true-type version then. oh well. It looks good enough to me anyways.

Thanks for this page, the forum and the work you have put down in bringing everyone these great programmers fonts.
