Hello,
I'm almost totally in love with ProFont but I've got two problems that I'm really hoping someone can help me with. I'm on a Mac running OS X 10.3.6, I use it mostly in Entourage. I downloaded the package and have three versions installed, the Mac version, Windows version and the Latin1 (?) version. My problem is:
When I use the Mac version, I have curly quotes and other characters I need when replying to people's HTML email. This is good but...
The line spacing on the Mac version is very tight and I don't like it. Yet the line spacing on the Windows version is perfect.
Only trouble is that the Windows version is missing all the special characters like curly quotes and other marks which people use commonly in HTML mail. Thus reading the mail is tricky and replying is quite ugly.
So does some genius have a solution? A Mac version with more leading? Or a Windows version with all the special characters? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I spent a little time on this site and found a "tweaked" version of the Windows font. This ALMOST solves my issue but introduces a third issue. This tweaked one has the right line spacing and the right special characters but for some reason is MUCH smaller - so to see it at what was 9 point, I have to set it to 12 point and that makes the letters a bit too thick with OS X's smoothing. I can post screen shots if they would help but I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm going to give it a day or so with the tweaked windows version but its just not right.
Please help.

Hi David,
get a copy of ResEdit. I doesn't run on MacOS X, but I *think* it's running in classic mode.
You can use ResEdit to adjust the line spacing.
Do you know how to work with ResEdit?
Regards,
Tobias

I've used Resedit for a few minor things...where would I adjust line spacing?
Also, the font I've got active now does something quite strange, I think its called ligatures or something like that. If I type an "F" then an "i" it joins them, very strange looking...can I disable this too?
Sorry to be a pest...thanks,

I DID it!
Fired up Resedit, changed the Ascending section to match the Windows version, also revered to an older pre-ligature version of the Mac font and I think I'm all set! Thanks for the tip - and the font!

<DavidM>, is there somewhere you can post that font file? If not, email it to me at ynniv-web at ynniv dot com, and I'll make it available. This ligature issue is a big deal, since SubEthaEdit and TextEdit (two popular code editors) both try to use ligatures with ProFont.
Thanks,
