A few bugs? |
|
|
|
Hi guys. Well, first of all, I'd like to thank Tobias for the all effort he has put into making those excellent fonts available. I've been a huge fan of ProFont. Now, here's a few bug reports: Neither ProFont, Sheldon or Sheldon Narrow support the € (euro) symbol. And both Sheldon and Sheldon Narrow don't seem to support the º (o) and ª (a) symbols, which are very common in portuguese. And if ProFont supports them, I can't see why Sheldon wouldn't.
If anyone can give me some directions on how this can be fixed, I'd be very thankful.
Regards,
Jonas.

Don't mention it. :-)

Well, the fonts were created long before anyone even knew that there will be a currency called Euro...

The Sheldon font originally was created just for the personal use of its author. I guess he just never wrote in portuguese, and never planned to make it available to a larger audience -- until I asked him if I can put it on my web site...

I can't help you since I don't work with Windows and I even can't convert bitmap fonts from Mac to Windows anymore.
But try this:
1. Download Softy font editor.
http://www.tobiasjung.net/download.php?file=sfty107b.zip
2. Open the font with Softy (keep a backup of the original font!!).
I guess Softy will allow to copy & paste characters. So copy the uppercase C to the Euro char position and then add the two horizontal lines.
This will give you a Euro symbol that matches the "look and feel" of the font but of course it doesn't look like the "official" Euro symbol.
If you need this, well, you'll have to do some more work...
As for the portuguesean symbols you're looking for -- maybe you should try to copy them from ProFont and paste them into Sheldon. Maybe you'll have to edit them, but this will give you something to start with at least.
If you don't know how to work with Softy, feel free to ask for help here.
As mentioned above, I don't work with Windows so I never worked with Softy, but maybe somebody else is able to give you a few tips.
Kind Regards
and Good Luck!
Tobias
